This is a full-fledged RPG!
Ignore what the other reviewer said about this being like Easy Quest,he/she obviously didn't play the game enough to even get to the town.
The game begins in a cavern,and you get to then pick your character's name,gender,and class.Then you will meet Razraf,who is as far as I know the only character that you don't get to name.
First of all,note that the "Restart" button is actually the Pause button,so don't worry about pressing it.(You'll be pressing it a lot for saving,loading,inventory and combat matters though.)
Movement is done in a Pseudo-3D First Person Dungeon Crawler style.On the minimap,there are three types of tiles:Walls,paths,and objects,the latter of which will appear yellow.
By objects,I mean stairs,treasures(pretty rare and sometimes looting a treasure a quick battle with regular enemies),or a boss battle,so always save right before you touch one just in case.(The boss is always at the end of the dungeon.)
Combat encounters occur whenever you run into the Dungeon's boss,or they are triggered randomly moving around the dungeon.
This game's combat system is unique.
First of all,your party can fight automatically,BUT what the other reviewer failed to notice was that if you tapped the pause button (Restart) you have several things you can do.
First,I'll explain what the bars in the combat screen mean:
The number indicates their amount of Health/HP.
The first bar is the Attack Bar,it shows how long until that character performs an attack/spell/action,when it decreases fully that character performs the action.
The second bar is the Energy Bar,it gradually increases over time but dealing and taking damage as well as some abilities such as Concentration raise it quicker.When it is fully charged at 100%(It will flash red) you can use one of the "special" attacks that do a lot more damage,such as 2PoweredAttack,AreaAttack,3TimesAttack,etc...I suggest always using the [Insert Number Here]TimesAttack abilities on enemies.
The "beams" you see coming out of each character or enemy indicate who their targeting.
Now for the more complicated combat stuff you get by pressing Restart aka Pause...
During combat,tapping on one of your characters names allows you to order their next action,which will cancel their current one.
Save can only be used outside of combat,while Load can be used at any time.
Position can only be used outside of combat,it can move a character to the Front or Back for battle.
From what I understand,characters at the Front can attack slightly quicker and do more damage but take more damage,while characters at the Back take less damage but do less damage unless their attack is magic or if they are a Ranger or Bomber.(The latter class you should avoid,Bombers take too long to attack to be useful.)
Items shows you the items in your inventory and their stats,however it does NOT show items that are currently equipped.It can always be used.
While viewing an item,you may notice some odd pairings of letters,these indicate what class can use that said item.(Some items can't be equipped,they can only be sold.)
For example,Sa=Samurai,Bk=Black Knight,etc,it's not too hard to figure out.
Status allows you to see the...stats and experience points gained for each character.It can always be used.
Law can be used at any time,it's basically a list of things that you order your character to do during combat,think of it as a script that they will follow during combat and starting at the beginning of it after they've done all the actions in the list.
However,you can still issue direct orders by pausing and tapping on a party member's name,cancelling their current action.
Finally,Escape can ONLY be uses during combat with REGULAR ENEMIES,it is disabled during boss battles.Basically,once a character's Attack Bar depletes they will immediately run away.As long as one character escaped,you won't get a game over.
If a character gets killed,they only lose experience points.After you've either won or escaped the battle,all characters are fully healed and revived,but any EXP that a character lost via dying will have to be gained
